Habanero Launches a New Menu with Chef Dan Durkin

When we crave for Tex Mex cuisine we just think of one place, Habanero


Habanero, the first Tex-Mex restaurant in Bangalore, is launching a new menu, created by its new COO and Executive Chef, Dan Durkin.   A native of Colorado, USA, Chef Dan has spent a significant amount of his youth in the Yucatan peninsula of Mexico, which inspired his interest in and love for Mexican cuisine. A certified chef with more than twelve years of experience under his belt, Dan has consulted with several prominent food and beverage brands in Asian countries such as Singapore, Malaysia Hong Kong, Jakarta and Thailand.
Though not on a full-time capacity then, he has been involved with Habanero from its inception in 2011, when he helped to create the recipes for Bangalore’s first Tex-Mex dining experience. Now that Habanero is expanding to new neighborhoods and cities (Hyderabad and Chennai) and requires his expertise more, he agreed to move to India to start running the show on a day-to-day basis. 



Chef Dan is excited to share the new menu which includes some classic favorites as well as some of his new personal creations.

Some of the notable new dishes on the menu include

Fish Veracruz
Mexican coastal specialty of steamed fish atop vegetables, doused with a tangy, spicy Veracruz gravy. This dish is named after Veracruz which is Mexico’s oldest, largest, and historically most significant port since European colonization. Simple and good dish, good for people looking for healthy food. 

Chipotle Marinated Chicken
Flame-grilled boneless breast with a smoky, spicy flavor.

Pork Green Chili Stew
Bowl of slow-cooked meaty stew served alongside soft tortillas, beans and rice. Chef Dan shares that this is his most favourite Mexican dish. Amazing dish definitely worth a try, pork was juicy and tender and this dish was completely filling in itself. If you like soups and stews, then this is dish for you.

Carne Asada
Beef tenderloin rubbed with a robust Mexican seasoning. 


Eggplant and Black Bean Stack
It has eggplants, black beans, blackened tomato sauce and grated cheese.  The portion is generous and the taste is totally satisfying. Great dish for vegetarians.


Stuffed Roasted Red Pepper
Made of a sweet, red capsicum stuffed with paneer and rice served straight from the oven.

Zucchini Fritters With Tomatillo Relish
It's savory cakes or patties of shredded zucchini, breaded and fried and accompanied with a tangy sauce. It's light and delicately flavoured.

Tres Leches
It literally means three kinds of milk.  It's a slice of butter cake soaked in three kinds of milk (full cream, evaporated and condensed) and garnished with fruit. It's simply divine. 


So friends visit them and try amazing Tex Mex cuisine.
