Hi Friends,

Spent an amazing afternoon spending time Learning about photography concepts and Nikon technology.
Nikon India organized “Through the Lens” photography seminar in the city. The event was hosted by Nikon Technical team and Mr. Raghu Rai (renowned photographer) at Skyye Lounge at UB city, Bangalore. The focus of the meet was to understand the nuances of photography and to gain in-depth knowledge of different technologies advancements, photography techniques and post photo editing.

Few Photography and editing techniques included:

1. High Dynamic Range Photography (HDR)
HDR image is commonly made of three or more photos of the same scene with varying exposures. . The resulting images will have different  exposures that will correctly expose the various parts of the scene. We can then use software to combine all these images to bring details for shadows and highlights

Now the best part:
• Select Nikon cameras like the (D7100) D600, D800, D4 and (D5100) D5200 have in camera
HDR mode. Which means no more struggle with post click software HDR.

2. Macro Photography

Macro photography is photography for tiny objects :)
Ever thought of how to capture flowers water drops, small cute object captures and close-up of eyes. Then this is the deal for you.
Nikon offers high quality optics to capture small subjects and show subjects in larger than life perspective. Lenses like 85mm Micro is just perfect examples of the gear required to capture high quality macro pictures.

3. Bokeh Photography
The term “Bokeh” comes from the Japanese word boke, which means “blur”. Bokeh defines the quality of the blurred lights in a photo background which have aesthetically pleasing blurs. Portrait with background blur is classic example.

NIKKOR lenses technology allows you to get that perfect bokeh to enhance your photography; 50mm f/1.4, 85mm f/1.4 lense have the optics used to create pleasing bokehs.

4.  Panorama
Wide format photography which allows capturing a landscape or architecture in a way people view them, creating a wide image covering the entire scene and you can feel  the moment literally.
With high resolution Nikon cameras like D800/D600/D3200 and D5200 you can create high quality panoramic images.

5. Time lapse photography
This new feature allows taking sequential images captured over a period of hours and compress them into a video of only a few minutes in length – this allows you to see a slowly changing scene at a much faster pace and actually live the moment. This opens up a whole new world of photography not possible with images or conventional videos.

Best part:
Select Nikon D-SLR cameras have built-in feature of Time lapse photography and can capture a variety of scenes and subjects at breathtaking pace.  This avoids time consuming editing on softwares.

The best part of the seminar was that we were able to try our hands on new Nikon cameras with amazing lense setup. With the first click I was in Love with the Nikon cameras and Lenses, just made for each other, I could feel the quality and craftsmanship.
I was so amazed that I actually asked what do you do with your lenses and got to know that Nikon not just builds camera lenses but also supplies industry specialized optics which is used in many precision equipment’s, needless to say that’s why their lenses are alive and they talk with the moment captured.
I was amazed with the features and technology advancement of Nikon cameras.
Skyye kitchen at UB city as always had great food and spectacular view of Bangalore city and was the best place to try lenses like 600mm, it was Just WOW, what a clarity and amazing captures, best suited zoom lense I must say.

Till next time....Keep it STYLISH By Nature !!
