How to Prepare Your Skin for Hair Removal?

We all love smooth, shiny and hair free skin and often use various methods to remove the excess hair. What we don’t realise is that we might just be following the wrong practices of hair removal !!

Depending on the method of hair removal, these tips will help you prepare your skin for hair removal to help you get the perfect results.

Waxing

Waxing is one of the most popular methods of hair removal in India. Some women prefer going to a salon (more time and money), whereas some women have started waxing at home using ready to use wax strips like the one Veet offers.

Exfoliate a day or two before you wax.

Exfoliating should be done gently and for a considerable amount of time to help remove dead skin cells.
The lesser the dead skin cells, the easier it is for wax to come off your skin, causing lesser pain while waxing.

Find out which wax suits your skin the best. If you are doing this at home, there are various variants of Veet wax strips that are suited for different skin types to give you the best results.

Moisturize well till one day before waxing.

Healthy, well-moisturized skin allows the wax to come off your skin easily. Too much moisturizer could coat the hair and interfere with the wax’s grip, so avoid moisturizing on the day of your waxing session.
Avoid having alcohol or caffeine a few days prior to waxing as this will reduce the amount of pain you feel while waxing your hair off.
Lastly, to prepare for a wax, always remember that your hair needs to be a minimum of 2 mm. But with Veet Wax Strips you can remove hair upto 1.5mm of length .

Depilatory creams

These hair removal creams are known to dissolve the hair to the roots, leaving your skin feeling smooth. Veet creams give you 2X longer lasting smoothness over razors. Before you put on Veet hair removal cream on your skin, remember to exfoliate and patch test the cream, 24 hours before you start the hair removal process. As in waxing, it is important to exfoliate before use depilatories as well.
It will help you get rid of dead skin and in-growths.

Also, wash and run warm water over the area you want to remove hair from – this will open your pores and remove any residues from your skin.

Lastly, always remember to read the instructions to use on your hair removal cream pack!

Make sure you keep the cream on exactly for the time recommended on the pack and wash it off with water.

Great hair free skin is around if you prepare your skin in the right way!

SBN Tip: Never start hair removal, if the skin there has little redness, scratches, bruises, rashes, irritation, and other similar defects, otherwise you will only aggravate the situation. Wait for your skin to heal and only then start off with the removal process.

Till next time....Keep it STYLISH By Nature !!
