We make the “To Buy/Not to Buy” decision with the preconceived notion that this is a luxury spending.
I’d say Yes, maybe there was a time in India when buying and using makeup was a luxury and when using inexpensive drugstore products meant risking your skin.
But I can happily say that at present, there are multiple drugstore products that are at par with their high end counterparts – in quality as well as in results.

This foundation gives a medium coverage which can be built up according to requirement.
Its smooth and leaves a matte finish, which is perfect for summers.
Though this product can be a little drying, so I recommend putting on a lot of moisturiser before putting this on.

If you’re someone who is worried about the foundation creasing-
I’d recommend you to replace this with a BB/CC cream with medium coverage.

This BB cream does the task of a light- medium coverage foundation perfectly.
It does not crease, gives a matte effect and has SPF 21.

P.S. I totally detest the “fairness cream” part of this product- promoting beauty standards on the basis of someone’s skin shade is entirely wrong in my view.

2. Concealer
Rimmel Hide the Blemish Concealer – INR 325
Rimmel London is a household name in over the counter beauty products in the UK. The company was founded in 1834 and has a legacy in cosmetic manufacturing.
The concealer comes in a twist up packing, making it super convenient to apply and travel with. It is quite creamy, has amazing coverage and blends really well.
A lighter shade than yours can be used as a highlighter as well.
In my opinion this product is a steal for its price.

3. Blush
Max Factor Flawless Perfection Blush – INR 520
A very subtle blush available in gorgeous shades. This is perfect when you want to look just flushed and want that natural sheen. The only downside for me was the applicator brush which was a little flimsy for my liking, but the blush applies perfectly with fingers as well.

4. Loose Powder
Coloressence high definition loose powder- INR 315
Any concealer that you use should always be set using a loose powder. This avoids the concealer to crease after a few hours and mattifies it.
This product is almost a dupe for the Make Up Forever’s HD Powder.

5. Eye Shadow

This kajal is perfect to line your eyes and doesn’t smudge easily.
I prefer to take this under the eyes a little and smudge it with my finger for a less harsh look.

Having gone through multiple bottles of it, it is yet another steal product.
It leaves a glossy line on top of your eyelids and is perfect to Cat things Up.

Yet another UK drugstore brand which is now available in India, Freedom is popular for the quality of its products.
The best part about this bronzer is that its matte, which is perfect for all types of complexions.
It is an extremely professional product with great colour pay-off.
Though if you’re a starter, I would recommend you watch tons of contouring videos on YouTube before using Bronzers since it can be a little tricky.
